Japanese Market Opening in Medford Square Friday

A Japanese market with sushi and other items is opening in Medford Square on Friday.

Ebisuya will feature “restaurant quality sushi with fresh seafood right from the pier. Sushi rice & seasoning, sushi knives, Japanese magazine[s] & DVDs,” according to its website.

A grand opening is planned for Friday, January 22 from 6PM-8PM in the store’s 65 Riverside Avenue location in Medford Square.

Ebisuya was started by employees of a popular Porter Square Japanese market that recently closed.  Long-time Japanese market Kotobukiya closed its Cambridge store and two of its former employees opened a new market in Medford Square, according to Medford City Clerk Ed Finn, whose sister was a long-time employee of the store.
