Crowd Turns Out for Carter Twins, Maloney at MHS
|The Caron Theater at Medford High School was the scene of a rock concert on Friday night, with Medford native Michael Maloney and Nashville’s Carter Twins performing.
Students, parents, faculty, and fans of the artists turned out for the concert, which supported senior scholarships for the Fine Arts Department.
Up and coming country rockers The Carter Twins performed their hit singles, including “Heart Like Memphis,” and also covered Collective Soul’s “Shine,” Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’,” and Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.”
Maloney performed standard favorites such as Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Billy Joel’s “Piano Man,” and Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” and closed with his “The Long and Winding Road to Medford†Beatles parody that won him top honors in WROR’s “Townie Tunes” contest in 2007.
