Junior pitcher Kristina Bove tossed a no-hitter on Tuesday afternoon, leading the Mustang varsity softball team to a 10-0 victory over Waltham.
Bove pitched a complete game and allowed only two base runners while walking one batter and striking out six Hawks. The local nine defense made several outstanding plays to preserve the gem, said Head Coach Jack Dempsey.
The Lady Mustang batters pounded out fourteen hits, including a tremendous three run home run by junior Sarah Moulton. Moulton also contributed another hit to the Mustang offense. Sophomore Jackie Pellecchia had three hits, junior Kasey Moran had two hits and two stolen bases, and freshman Sam Lopilato had two hits and one RBI.
Senior captain Nicole Lopilato smacked a two base hit, good for two RBI’s, while sophomore Emily Welch, junior Vicky Luongo and Bove also chipped in with key hits.
The Lady Mustangs’ record now stands at 3 wins and 1 loss. Their next game is against Waltham at home at Tufts Park on Friday at 3:45PM.
