Public Hearing on Residential Trash and Recycling
Thursday, May 20, 2010, 7 p.m.
Medford City Hall – Council Chambers
85 George P. Hassett Drive – Medford, MA 02155
The purpose of this Hearing is to outline proposed changes to the residential trash and recycling program for the City of Medford, and to secure public input and comments.
The City of Medford has announced adoption of a two-container “Containerized and Single-Stream Recycling and Trash System” with a target start date of October, 2010. The Hearing is an informational session and an opportunity to receive residents’ input, suggestions, etc.
The new system is designed to improve Medford’s recycling rate, improve environmental benefits (carbon, energy, etc.), reduce trash tonnage, and reduce costs.
This is the second hearing on this topic.
Please note that the May 20 meeting will only talk about residential trash and recycling. Commercial trash and recycling will be the subject of a future hearing.
