Story Updated 6:34PM Wednesday, May 19, 2010
The Medford City Council is considering establishing a municipal ordinance to allow seating and tables on sidewalks outside of the city’s restaurants.
The Council convened a Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss the issue before their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 18.
According to City Clerk Ed Finn, the issue was discussed and no vote was taken by the Council, since they need to work on language to amend existing city ordinances.
Any eating establishment and members of the Chamber of Commerce were invited to attend the meeting. The city’s Health Director and City Solicitor are also invited to attend.
The meeting was also open to the public.
