Mustang Softball Shuts Out Cambridge Tuesday

Medford junior Kristina Bove pitched a complete game shutout, striking out five and walking two to lead the Lady Mustangs to a lopsided 16-0 win over Cambridge at Tufts Park on Tuesday. Bove also added two hits, three RBI’s, and scored four runs.

Ten different Mustangs banged out fifteen hits against the visiting Falcons. Senior captain Nicole Lopilato, juniors Kasey Moran and Victoria Luongo, and sophomore Jackie Pellecchia added two hits and two RBI’s apiece. Senior J.T.Rizzo, junior Sarah Moulton, sophomores Emily Welch and Shannon Hussey, and freshman Sam Lopilato chipped in with one hit each.

The Lady Mustangs improved their record to 8-5 overall overall and 4-3 in the Greater Boston League. Medford heads to Everett on Thursday for a 3:45pm game.
