Firefighters Send Care Packages to Troops
|Medford Firefighters Team Up with Helping Our Troops
The Medford Firefighters Association and Medford Firefighters Local 1032 are helping make troops serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan a little more comfortable. The firefighters teamed up with local non-profit Helping Our Troops to send dozens of care packages to soldiers. The Firefighters Association donated over a dozen large boxes of toiletries and Local 1032 donated $250. In addition, McGlynn Elementary School first graders wrote sixty letters to the troops that will be included with the packages.
Medford firefighters, including several who have served in the military, are pictured above with the donated items, along with John Fitzgerald and Frank Geary of Helping Our Troops, Medford students, and School Committee members George Scarpelli and Bill O’Keefe.
