|National Team Title 1st Ever in Tufts History
The Tufts University mens lacrosse team earned a national title with a 9-6 victory over Salisbury University on Sunday. The Division III National Championship is the first ever national team title in Tufts’ history. The Jumbos (20-1), who had never previously advanced past the NCAA Championship second round, opened up a 7-1 lead and went on to defeat a Salisbury squad (21-2) that has won eight NCAA Championships. The game took place in Baltimore, Maryland before a crowd of more than 20,000, the largest crowd before which the team has played. Photo by Doug Kapustin and courtesy Tufts University.
