Speedy Mustangs Compete in State Track Meet

Four speedy Mustangs qualified for and competed in the East Division 1 Track Meet on Friday, May 28 at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville:

Senior DeAundrey Williams- 100M dash
Senior Anya Piere-Louis- 100M high hurdles and long jump
Sophomore Ariana Fiorello- 100M dash and long jump
Sophomore Kathryn Ellersick- 400M run

Track Coach Tom Lynch released the following results from Friday’s meet:

Senior DeAundrey Williams placed 8th overall in the 100 meter dash in Division 1 with a time of 11.37.

Senior Anya Pierre-Louis place 10th in the 100 meter hurdles and 26th overall in the Long Jump with a jump of 14?2?.

Two sophomore sensations, Ariana Fiorello and Kathryn Ellersick, did great qualifying for the state meet. Ariana finished 10th overall as a sophomore in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.13! Great job! Katherine finished 17th as a sophomore in the 400 meter dash with a time of 66.9 seconds.

Both have a promising outlook and should captain our girls team during next year’s indoor and outdoor track seasons.

All four athletes have been named Greater Boston League All-Stars.
