Character on Popular TV Show Considers School
This Friday’s episode of NBC’s award-winning “Friday Night Lights” will feature Tufts University and some other Boston area colleges.
Tami (Connie Britton) and Julie Taylor (Aimee Teegarden) leave Dillon, Texas, for a few days so Julie can take the quintessential high school senior college tour in Boston. During the episode, Julie has an illuminating interview with a Tufts admissions counselor, followed by a heart-to-heart talk with her mother, which was shot on the Tufts library roof on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus with a view of Boston in the background. Approximately 20 Tufts University students were cast as extras for the scene.
Other Boston area highlights in the episode include scenes from Boston College, Boston University and Harvard Square. Also in the episode, the Lions play the worst team in the league, leading people to dub the mismatch “The Toilet Bowl.” Elsewhere, Tim (Taylor Kitsch) makes a bad decision and helps Luke (Matt Lauria) make an equally questionable one. Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemons, Michael B. Jordan and Jurnee Smollett also star.
The episode airs at 8 p.m. June 25 on NBC.
