Medford Outback Restaurant Closes
|Open Friday, Closed by Monday
The Medford location of the Outback Steakhouse restaurant chain closed on Sunday without any notice, according to several people who have visited the restaurant within the past couple of days.
According to Medford resident Jim Morse, a worker at the restaurant said no other tenant is moving in and they closed down because of the high rent and a pending rent increase.
Several other locations in the Boston area are still open for business including Burlington, Peabody and Methuen.
“We welcome the Medford customers,” Jennifer L. Schwartz, owner of the Burlington Outback, told Morse.
According to its website, the restaurant chain was founded in 1988 and has locations all over the United States as well as twenty-one other countries, including Australia, China, Japan, Mexico, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom.

Not only did they close without notice, but they told their employees the day after the last shift leaving them all high and dry. The GM who was there for maybe 2 months was the worst this place has seen and its too bad the company is so quick to turn their backs on their loyal employees and customers.
We stopped at Hanover Mall and discovered Outback closed there as well, also Hyannis left. What is going on?
