Two very talented Medford athletes will participate this summer in the annual Harry Agganis All-Star Classic.
Andrew White, a 2010 Medford High School graduate, will play point guard in the 6th Annual All-Star Men’s Basketball Classic on Monday, July 12 at 7:30PM at Lynn English High School.
White is only the fifth Mustang in MHS history to score 1,000 points on the basketball court. The three-time Greater Boston League All-Star and two-time GBL MVP is attending Salem State College in the fall, where he is planning on shooting hoops for the Vikings.
Medford resident and 2010 Malden Catholic High School graduate Justin Sencabaugh will either catch or play 3rd base in the 16th annual Agganis All-Star Baseball Classic. That game is taking place on Sunday, July 11 at 2:00PM at Fraser Field in Lynn.
Sencabaugh is heading to UMass-Amherst in the fall, where he will continue his baseball career. The two-time Catholic Conference All-Star was recently selected as a Boston Herald Eastern Mass. baseball star and is also an All-Scholastic hockey player. He currently plays for the Andre Chiefs.
The Agganis All-Star Classics, a series of high school all-star games in softball, baseball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball and football are played annually.
The Agganis Foundation, Inc. is named after Harry Agganis, a legendary athlete from Lynn Classical High School, Boston University and the Boston Red Sox. It was founded in 1955 shortly after Agganis died from a pulmonary embolism at the age of 26. The mission of the Foundation is to provide college scholarships to deserving student-athletes.
Congrats to Andrew White and Coach Faradie, nice recognition for the Mustang Basketball Team. Andrew great season and well deserved honor
