Medford Intercity League Baseball Action
|Season Winds Down, Playoffs Loom
The 12-17 Medford Americans have just one game left. The team concludes their regular season with a 6:00PM game against the 15-10 Watertown Reds at Playstead Park.
As the season winds down the Andre Chiefs find themselves in a familiar place. The 16-9 Chiefs are second in the league behind the ever-dominating 21-6 Lexington Blue Sox.
The Chiefs have a big week with several games. On both Tuesday and Wednesday the Chiefs visit the Reading Bulldogs for a 6:00PM game. On Friday the Chiefs conclude the regular season with an 8:00PM game against the Mooney Dental Tanners at Ferullo Field.
Last season the Americans finished 13-14, fourth place, in the league, while the Chiefs and Blue Sox slugged it out for the league title. The Blue Sox eventually won the series and finished in first place with a 22-6 record, while the second place Chiefs were 16-11 on the season.
A playoff schedule should be determined within the next few days.
