Heath, Wilson Earn Shawn Bates Scholarships
|Former Star Mustang Establishes Scholarships for Deserving Student-Athletes
Congratulations to 2010 Medford High School graduates Greg Wilson and Kyle Heath for earning the Shawn Bates Scholarship.
Both Wilson and Heath captained the baseball team last season. Bates, also an MHS grad, excelled in both hockey and baseball while a Mustang. Wilson was recognized for his accomplishments as a hockey player while Heath earned the baseball scholarship.
Wilson and Heath each received $1,000. Wilson is attending Sienna College on a baseball scholarship while Heath is attending Elms college, also on a baseball scholarship.
Bates, currently a center with the New York Islanders professional hockey team, made his NHL debut in 1999. The Boston University graduate split his first pro season between Boston and Providence.
