DiPaola Laid to Rest Wednesday

Former Middlesex Sheriff James DiPaola was laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family on Wednesday, according to published reports.

DiPaola was buried in Malden and the ceremony took place at the Immaculate Conception Church.

His family released the following statement:

“Today the DiPaola family laid to rest their beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, Middlesex Sheriff James V. DiPaola. A private service was attended by a small group of immediate family and friends. The entire DiPaola family wishes to acknowledge the outpouring of support and condolences they have received from colleagues, friends, and acquaintances. We thank you for continuing to respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

According to Boston.com, DiPaola’s family announced that a scholarship has been established in his name at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
