Venue Update: The Dugout Pub at 718 Commonwealth Avenue will host this event. Only 2 doors down from Sal’s Pizza at 714 Commonwealth Avenue!
Sal Lupoli, President/CEO of Sal’s Pizza announced that he has recruited “The Guy From Boston,†Joe Ligotti to challenge the students of Boston University (BU) to the first ever Sal’s Pizza Challenge. The Sal’s Pizza Challenge will be held on Saturday February 5th, 5:00pm – 6pm at the new 714 Commonwealth Avenue Sal’s Pizza location.
In an effort to ease the wounds of New England not making the Superbowl, Sal decided Boston needed its own Superbowl and that’s when he recruited Super Personality Joe Ligotti to challenge BU students to eat an entire 19 inch 3 pound cheese pizza in 9 minutes or less. BU Students who accomplish the challenge will get their picture on the new Wall of Fame located at 714 Commonwealth Avenue and any BU Student who fails the challenge will get their picture placed on the Wall of Shame.
The Sal’s Pizza Challenge will be an ongoing promotion available to anyone during regular hours of operation after February 5th at 714 Comm. Ave.
“I’m going to challenge any BU Student brave enough to show up! I really don’t think anyone can beat me!†said Joe Ligotti in regards to the challenge. “I think the night before the actual Superbowl is perfect! This is a big Challenge! I’m not sure anyone can eat an entire 19 inch 3 pound pizza in less than 9 minutes. I really don’t.†said Sal Lupoli.
