Local Realtor Recognized with Award

Louise Bartolo, CBR, GRI, an experienced, active REALTOR® with ERA Andrew Realty was the recipient of the Eastern Middlesex Association of REALTORS®’ (EMAR’s) Dorothy M. Shea Award. This marks the second time Bartolo has received this distinguished award. The award was announced at EMAR’s Annual Installation of Officers dinner held at the Hillview Country Club in North Reading. That night, Bartolo was also installed as the 2011 president of EMAR.

Awarded annually, the Dorothy M. Shea Award is given to the REALTOR® whose volunteer efforts, accomplishments and considerable contributions have served to benefit both the Association and his/her fellow REALTORS®. Outgoing EMAR president, Richard Tisei, presented Louise with the award. Bartolo also earned the honor of receiving the award in 2007.

Bartolo is an extremely active REALTOR® and EMAR Board member who has over 11 years of real estate sales experience. She holds two real estate designations: GRI (Graduate REALTOR® Institute) and CBR (Certified Buyer Representative).

Over the years she has won numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding real estate sales, customer and community service achievements. In 2008, Bartolo received the honor of being named EMAR’s REALTOR® of the Year.

Bartolo has served on EMAR’s Board of Directors since 2003 and on its Executive Board since 2008. Throughout this time she also served on and/or chaired numerous committees, including EMAR’s Strategic Planning and REALTOR® Political Action Committees. While chairing EMAR’s Community Service and Charitable Educational Foundation Committee in 2007, Bartolo played an integral role in organizing the state’s first Dancing with the REALTORS® competition and fundraising event that raised over $25,000 for Habitat for Humanity. Today, the Dancing with the REALTORS® is an annual event that continues to raise significant funds for this worthy cause.

In addition to her EMAR activities, Bartolo is also a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Northern Region Chapter and served as the organization’s Treasurer from 2005-2006. On the state level, Louise has served as Director of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® since 2008.

Bartolo is a contributor to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society and the REALTORS® Political Action Committee, to name a few.
