Hockey Team Claims 1st Super 8 Title

After being knocked out of the Super 8 finals the past three seasons, the Malden Catholic hockey team claimed its first Super 8 title last week with an exciting 4-3 sudden death overtime win against St. John’s Prep.

The Lancers had to defeat some tough competition before winning it all, knocking off Central Catholic, Hingham (the team that stopped the Lancers in the semi last season), Weymouth, and BC High before taking the ice at the TD Garden.

The team was recently interviewed on Channel 5’s “High Five” sports feature with Mike Lynch.
