Girls Lax Wins Home Opener

The girls varsity lacrosse team posted a solid victory at home in their first game of the season on Wednesday.
The Lady Mustangs defeated Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, 10-6, on the turf at MHS. Olivia and Katherine Timmins combined for seven of Medford’s ten goals, with Katherine netting three and Olivia earning four goals as well as eleven assists.
Madie Forcier added two goals while Ericka Silva grabbed one, and Katie O’Brien had one assist.
Head Coach Matt Galusi praised his goal-keepers, saying that Rachel Keene and Bianca Nargi “looked great in the goal for the victory.”
Medford is so far 1-0 on the season and hosts Shawsheen Valley Vocational Technical High School under the lights at 8:00PM on Friday, April 8. The team, Greater Boston League champions last season, faces its first GBL opponent on Monday, April 12 on the road at Malden.
