Legion Baseball Opens June 10

MHS 2011 graduates and baseball league all-stars Chris Salvati (batting) and Danny Gilchrist (on deck) are on the American Legion roster.

The Medford Post 45 American Legion baseball team will begin a season-opening four game homestand on Friday June 10th at Playstead Park against Watertown. First pitch is scheduled for 5:45 pm. The team will then host Weston on Saturday June 11th at 11 am, before welcoming perennial state powers Newton and Sudbury to Playstead on June 14th and 16th.

The Post 45 roster features eight key contributors from this season’s 15-5 Medford High School varsity team, including GBL All-Stars Danny Gilchrist and Chris Salvati. The team also showcases players from Arlington Catholic, Belmont Hill, Malden Catholic, and St. John’s Prep. This year’s team will look to make some noise in the highly competitive Middlesex County District 5, which features many D1 college recruits committed to schools like Vanderbilt, Boston College, and Columbia.
