Summer in Medford

Mayor Michael J. McGlynn today announced the schedule for Medford’s Summer Recreation Program.

“In these tight fiscal times, it is gratifying to see local businesses stepping forward to assist the youth of our community. East Cambridge Savings Bank has graciously donated $10,000 to fund the summer recreation season. They should be commended for helping to improve the quality of life for all in this community,” said Mayor McGlynn.

Tufts Pool will open on June 27, 2011 and close on August 26, 2011. More information is available online, including obtaining passes.

Wright’s Pond will open on June 25, 2011 and close on August 28, 2011. More information is available online, including obtaining passes.

The Park Program will begin on July 5, 2011 and run until August 12, 2011, from 9 AM – 12 noon and then again from 1 – 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Two park instructors will be assigned to the following parks: Barry, Harris, Morrison and Hickey.

“Once again, I must thank East Cambridge Savings Bank for enabling Medford to continue to provide our Summer Recreation Program. I am hoping that families with children aged 5-12 years old will take advantage of the free Park League program. It is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to get out in the fresh air, make new friends and learn new games and activities,” said the Mayor.
