Legion Baseball Earns Victory Over Concord
|The Medford Post 45 American Legion baseball team improves its record to 3-1-1 after an 8-1 on the road victory over Concord on Tuesday.
Medford High School sophomore John Lavoie pitched a complete game four hitter, according to Coach Ryan Kozul.
“Lavoie was supported by tremendous infield defense from Pat Duffy, Paul Covelle, and Chris Salvati. Salvati made a highlight reel play at shortstop to end the game,” said Kozul.
Leading the offense was Arlington Catholic’s Ryan Carvalho, 2-4 with two triples and four RBI’s, Malden Catholic’s Paul Covelle with a solo home run, and MHS’ Salvati, who was 2-4 with two RBI’s.
Medford is on the road on Sunday at North Chelmsford. The team hosts Lexington on Wednesday at 5:45PM at Playstead Park and Natick on Saturday at 11:00AM.
Lavoie came through with some clutch performances for the Medford Mustangs this past season.
Salvati (shortstop) delivers both offensively and defensively for his team.
AC’s Carvalho continues to lead the offense.
