Whole Foods Hosts ‘Green up’ Festival
|On Saturday afternoon Whole Foods in Medford hosted a free “Green Up” festival featuring local artists who use recycled materials and organizations that focus on the sustainability and protecting the environment.
This mosaic, created by Susan Altman of Medford, was made with glass, stones, and seashells.
Altman’s work is available for sale and she also creates custom pieces. She is a member of Green Medford, a grassroots group that seeks to educate the community about environmental issues and to empower people to make more sustainable energy choices.
For the ulta-environmentally conscious person on your shopping list, there is jewelry made out of solar panels, created by Medford resident Jonathan Hunt.
Hunt, pictured above with his 6-year-old twins, Ellie and Christopher, also writes a blog with his wife, Alicia, that provides tips for a greener lifestyle.
