Vote Tuesday, September 13
|Mayoral Preliminary; Polls Open Until 8PM
Incumbent Mayor Michael McGlynn, running for his thirteenth term, was the 37th person to vote at his polling location, St. Francis, in today’s mayoral preliminary election. McGlynn was accompanied by his wife, Sheila, and his new grandson, Cameron, who, coming from a political family, seemed very comfortable with the voting process!
McGlynn is being challenged by John Byers and Anthony D’Antonio. The preliminary election is needed to narrow the field down to two candidates, who will be on the ballot for the November 8 election.
Mayor McGlynn is the longest-serving mayor in the state. With two candidates challenging the Mayor, it’s the first time in over a decade that a mayoral preliminary is necessary.
The polls will open at 7AM and close at 8PM on Tuesday, September 13. There is no school Tuesday as each school (except for Medford High) is used as a polling location. To find out where you vote, click here.
