Golf Team in Hunt for Uncontested League Title

The Mustang golf team, 5-2, is currently undefeated in the GBL with a 5-0 league record.

“We have three matches left and we could go undefeated in the league,” said Head Coach Ray Dyer. “The kids have been great.”

The team picked up its closest victory of the season with a narrow 38-34 victory over Malden on Wednesday. Cory Mortell and Jimmy Cecchini led the Mustangs with convincing wins in their match.

The Mustangs have been led by captain Brendan Baker and #1 player Maxine Harney. Junior Allyson Mollung, Charlie Chouinard, Connor Lonergan and Adam Gabaree are also having excellent seasons, according to Coach Dyer.

“The team has been fun to coach this year…We also have another eight kids on the team, which bodes well for the future,” said Coach Dyer. “I’m confident that the team qualifies and does well in the state tournament. We have three matches left and we’re confident we will succeed!”
