Mystic River ‘Healing Ceremony’ Sunday

Mandaza KandemwaMandaza Kandemwa, a traditional healer and peacemaker from Zimbabwe, will be leading a ceremony to honor and offer a healing for our Mystic River this Sunday, October 9. Mandaza is expected to arrive a little after 12:30pm at the parking lot for Condon Band Shell Park, 2501 Mystic Valley Parkway. We will gather shortly after by the river. Please come, join us, and share with us your visions and dreams for our Mystic River.

Mandaza Augustine Kandemwa was born a Svikiro (a healer in Shona, his native tongue) – a carrier of many earth and water spirits, and a Mhondoro – one who is in constant prayer on behalf of others. He receives visions and dreams, makes offerings, performs healing rituals, and serves as messenger for the Ancient Ones. Like the water spirits he carries, Mandaza flows easily between the worlds of Christianity, the secular, indigenous wisdom, and modern and ancient earth ways.

After our ceremony, Mandaza will be at the Unitarian Church of Medford, 147 High Street, where he will be facilitating “A Council of Dreams and Visions,” 2:15-5:15. All are welcome.
