Winter Glow Festival at Springstep December 4
|Light up the December Darkness!
During the darkest month of the year, there’s a bright spot in Medford, and it’s not just City Hall’s holiday light display. On Sunday, December 4th from 2-5pm, Springstep will be illuminated during the Winter Glow Festival, an event that will get you and your family moving, dancing, singing, and creating art using the magic of light.
There is something for all ages at this festive event. Children ages 3-7 will explore their creativity in Creative Movement activities, acting out winter-themed books using their own shadows and dancing to lively music. As light displays dance around the room, Music Together demonstrations will get babies and toddlers moving and playing along to a variety of seasonal songs. Throughout the building, children will create unique crafts to take home and will participate in a glowing community art installation in Springstep’s expansive windows. All ages will enjoy performances featuring the Tap Project and Monkeyhouse as they animate the building in a unique fusion of dance and light. Finally, all participants are invited to participate in a community sing that celebrates winter and the commencement of the holiday season as we light up our community art installation just as the sun sets over Medford.
Delicious desserts by Jannabee’s will be for available for purchase, and free warm beverages from Mystic Coffee Roaster and Dunkin’ Donuts will be provided. Participants can also enter to win free and discounted Springstep classes, which begin in January. The festivities will take place indoors at Springstep at 98 George P. Hassett Drive in Medford. A suggested donation of $10 per family can be made at the door or in advance online. Participants can add their own glow to the event by wearing white in our black-lit studios.
