Medford Native Releases Holiday Songs

Sale of Songs to Benefit Children’s Hospital

Michael Maloney

Talented local musician and Medford native Michael Maloney has released three original Christmas songs that are being sold to benefit Children’s Hospital.

According to Maloney, who attended the hospital as a child to correct a hip problem, the funds raised will help pay the medical costs of patients whose families cannot afford care, to purchase essential medical equipment, to support pediatric research, and to provide training for incoming pediatricians.

All proceeds from the EP sales will be donated to the Hospital. One song is 99 cents, two songs are $1.98, or all three $2.97. Every download counts! Says Maloney.

The EP can be purchased in digital format from Amazon.com, iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Tradebit, and Zune. Those who can’t purchase the music from those websites can email Maloney at sgpeppermm@yahoo.com to get a copy of the songs.

“I hope to make this a big success, and can only do it with your help. Thanks for your time, and of course always, for your support,” said Maloney in an email.

The 2008 Medford High School graduate is a senior at UMass Boston, where he is in the Honors Program and is pursuing a double major in Music and Health Science. Maloney co-founded and teaches an a capella club, Sea Sharps, and taught a songwriting and singing workshop for high school students through Citi Performing Arts Center over the summer. He recently accompanied Spotlight Production’s Wizard of Oz at MHS in early June.
