Medford Police helped their colleagues in Somerville in nabbing a pair of suspects accused of swiping packages from local porches and doorways.
According to information from Somerville Police, Manual Sheehan, 27, and Kristen Casey, 26, both of Somerville, were arrested after police stopped their car in Somerville. The Somerville Police had received information from Medford Police and were able to match the suspects’ car with a description of a vehicle believed to be involved with the theft of packages from area homes. Police officers noticed the suspects’ car was full of boxes marked for delivery to several local addresses, and the pair was arrested for receiving stolen property.
Police also searched the suspects’ Everett Avenue home, where they found over one hundred similar items police say were stolen from local homes. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned Thursday in Somerville District Court.
According to police, Somerville detectives are working hard to identify the victims and log the stolen goods so that as many items as possible can be returned to their rightful owners in time for Christmas.
