Doncaster Scores 32 in Victory Over Pope John

Junior guard Sean Doncaster led the boys varsity basketball team with thirty-two points in the Mustangs’ 78-44 home victory over Pope John Friday night.
Doncaster was 14-15 at the free throw line, while senior Larry Keating, who added nineteen points, was 7-8.
“Sean Doncaster was outstanding. He played great, got to the basket, took care of the ball, finished strong, rebounded extremely well. Larry Keating went to work in the paint and we really pounded it into him down low,” said Head Coach Anthony Faradie.
Coach Faradie called the victory a “great team win.” Owen Healey converted in on 3-3 from the 3-point line and finished with nine points and eight Mustangs were in the scoring column. On defense Jonathan Pires did a great job covering Malcolm Brown.
Despite the lopsided loss Brown actually earned his 1,000th career point during the game.
The Mustangs need one more win to qualify for the state tournament. They head to Billerica on Friday, February 17 before their final home game on Sunday, February 19 against Wakefield. They finish up the season on the road in Cohassett on Wednesday, February 22.
