Medford Grammy Winner Visits McGlynn Elementary

On Friday students in Carol Rickenbacker’s first grade class at the McGlynn Elementary School had a very special guest. Medford native Terri Lyne Carrington, who recently won a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal album, read to the students for their “Read Across America” event promoting literacy in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Carrington is pictured with the students, Rickenbacker, and McGlynn Elementary principal Rebecca Sargent in the school library.

Mayor Michael McGlynn, also a guest reader, presented a special citation to Carrington.
