The Malden Catholic hockey team is making a repeat trip to the Super 8 final.
The Lancers, reigning Super Eight champ after compiling an impressive 21-2-2 record last season, are 19-1-4 heading into Sunday’s game against BC High.
MC has posted wins against St. John’s of Shrewsbury, BC High, Hingham, and Central Catholic en route to the championships. The Lancers defeated BC High 3-1 on March 6.
Malden Catholic Head Coach John McLean told ESPN he believed BC High would end up in the final round.
“I’ve had them [BC High] marked from Day 1 as the team that would be there,†McLean said. “Just nonstop. Great coach, great kids and it’s gonna be a great game,” said Coach McLean.
MC and BC High face off on Sunday, March 18 at 6:00PM at the TD Garden. It will be the fourth time the teams have seen each other this season, according to ESPN. Coach McLean is eager to see BC High one more time.
“I’m looking forward to it,” McLean said. “We always have good games with them. It’s gonna come down to who going to eat the puck, block a shot. Who’s gonna want to get in front and get dirty. I think it’s gonna come down to heart. I think it’s gonna be a great game for the fans.”
