MHS Prom Dress Shop a Success

Second ‘Shopping’ Date Added March 27

The hair, the makeup, the nails, the jewelry…the list of expenses for a high school girl going to the prom is endless and can add up to a small fortune.

The Medford High School PTO is continuing to help girls out by holding the school’s third annual prom dress shop. The prom dress shop provides free gowns, both new and gently used, to high school girls. Over the past two years about two hundred gowns have been donated and and dozens of girls walked away with their dream dress!

According to event organizer and School Committee member Erin DiBenedetto, this year about fifty girls got dresses. Since there are still some dresses left another “shopping” date has been added on March 27 from 4:30-6:00PM.

Many people and businesses donated dresses, including Bride-n-Belle in Medford.

“Theresa the owner gave us close to thirty brand new beautiful gowns for our girls. I can not thank her enough. What she does for the girls from Medford touches my heart. She is a lovely, generous person…I give credit to our buisness owners that give back to our community and Theresa comes through every year,” said DiBenedetto.
