Free Home Energy Efficiency Workshop March 28
|Are your energy bills high? Do you spend a lot on natural gas in the winter or a lot on electricity all year round? Do you wish they were lower but you’re not sure what to do about it? Maybe you know what to do about it but you don’t really think you can afford insulation or the improvements it would take? Did you have insulation installed 6 or 7 years ago, or more, and you’re not really sure what else to do? Are you a renter or landlord or a homeowner of a 1-4 family house? Come to CIty Hall Wednesday night, March 28, 2012, to learn what programs are available and what you can do to lower your bills and save energy.
Mass Energy Consumer Alliance, Next Step Living, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and the City of Medford are hosting a free workshop on lowering energy costs and improving comfort in 1-4 family unit homes. This informative workshop will include experts in building science, window replacements, solar panels, HVAC and 0% interest financing through Mass Save HEAT loans. Additionally, MAPC will provide information about the Local Energy Action Plan that it is assisting the City of Medford in developing.
The free workshop will take place at Medford City Hall from 6:30 PM- 8:00 PM, and is open to home owners, renters and landlords.
Residents pay into the Mass Save Home Energy Services Program through required charges on their energy bills; this is an opportunity to learn more about the many incentives and rebates that you pay for and are available to you through the Mass Save program. These incentives are available through a no-cost home energy assessment that often includes free energy efficient lightbulbs, programmable thermostats and air sealing work on your home.
Experts on all of these topics: air sealing, reducing energy costs, insulation, windows, solar PV and 0% loans will be available to answer your questions at City Hall on Wednesday night. City Energy & Environment staff will also be available to answer questions and get input from residents on the City’s Energy Action Plan currently under development. Please join us at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers in City Hall, Wednesday, March 28th.
If you have any questions regarding this event or the Mass Save program, please email Travis Estes at travis.estes@nextsteplivinginc.com or visit NextStepLivingInc.com.
