Medford Plants, Prunes Trees on Arbor Day

Medford recognized Arbor Day on April 27 by planting and pruning trees.

Tree Warden Aggie Tuden said efforts were concentrated in the park outside the historic Royall House and along George Street.

Tree plantings included four new Hedge Maples on George Street and one Hawthorn Tree in Royall Park, according to Tuden. The trees were donated by National Grid Electric and were installed at no cost by Leo’s Landscaping of W. Bridgewater.

Lawn’s Plus of Medford and Turner Tree of Woburn also volunteered their professional services to prune trees in Royall Park.

“The work by professional arborist crews improved the health and added years to the life of the trees, and enhanced the views into and within the park,” said Tree Warden Aggie Tuden. “The preservation of the continuous view of the total landscape shared by Royall Park and the Royall House property was a major accomplishment of the work performed on Arbor Day.”
