Mayor: Time for Housing Authority to Move Forward

The following statement was released by Mayor Michael McGlynn on the resignation of Medford Housing Authority Director Robert Covelle:

“The news of Mr. Covelle’s resignation signals the end of a difficult chapter for the Medford Housing Authority. Clearly it is time to move forward.

I am hopeful that the decision of the Housing Authority to enter into this Agreement will allow it to refocus its attention on its mission of serving its residents.

I am confident that the Authority will be revitalized as it engages in a search for a new director. The focus must now be to address the concerns of the audit and work with federal and state officials to serve the needs of the many people who look to the Authority for prompt and professional service.”
