A Medford man is accused of viewing “inappropriate” photos of young boys on a Medford Public Library computer, according to Medford Police.
Police say say they caught Peter Judge, 57, viewing a photo of a “nude young boy” on a library computer on May 14. Police were alerted by someone at the library who saw Judge allegedly looking at inappropriate photos of young boys. Officer Robin Doherty and Officer William Butts responded to the library and saw a nude photo of a young boy on his computer monitor. According to police, Judge, exited the website when he noticed the police officers, who say he was viewing, downloading, and printing the photos to disseminate.
The library computer was seized as evidence, and Medford Police Lieutenant John McLean, head of the Computer Crime unit, was able to obtain a search warrant for the computer and Judge’s cell phone. Lt. McLean was able to obtain more evidence as a result of the search warrant. Judge is also the subject of a federal investigation by the United State Postal Inspection Service.
Judge was arrested and charged with distribution of photos of nude children, and distribution of child pornography. According to information released by Medford Police, Judge made bail, and the Medford Public Library network has been notified of the incident.
