New MHS Headmaster Selected

An assistant principal at a Revere middle school has been selected as Medford High School’s new headmaster.
John Perella, assistant principal at the Garfield Middle School in Revere since 2010, will take over for current headmaster Dr. Krueger, who is retiring after fourteen years at the helm.
Before his position at Garfield Middle School, Perella was a Vice-Principal at Revere High School for six years. He started his career in education as a Humanities teacher at the high school in 1997.
Perella has a Bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst in history. He received his Master of Arts in teaching history from Salem State, and also has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from the school. He recently earned his Doctorate in Education from UMass.
Perella will officially be on the job July 1.
