Medford, State Donate More to Obama Campaign
|It might come as a surprise to no one in a so-called “blue state” such as Massachusetts.
According to presidential campaign contribution data compiled by the Federal Election Commission, current President Barack Obama has raised more money in Massachusetts, as well as from Medford residents, than former Massachusetts Governor and presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
According to the FEC, Obama has received $8,534 in campaign contributions from Medford residents in June, while Romney hasn’t received any money from Medfordites. Romney raised $1,700 in April and $1,048 in March from Medford residents, compared to $1,198 in March and $2,498 in April for President Obama.
Obama has received $7,731,546 from Massachusetts residents through May 31, while the former MA governor has received $4,869,764.
