Medford Little Leagues Talk Merger; Meeting August 2
To recap, the recent meeting that was held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Columbus Park and the American Legion Hall in Medford involving the three (3) Little League boards and many parents was strong. The consensus from this exercise was simple. Medford should move forward with the merger of Little League for the youth and future of baseball in Medford. As agreed, the volume of discussion can’t occur or be defined within one night.
A Town Hall meeting format involving various topics will begin this Thursday, August 2, 2102 at the Medford Firefighter Hall located on 340 Salem Street in Medford, beginning at 6pm. This will be a general meeting where anyone can attend to comment on the topics that will be discussed that evening. The meetings will occur weekly up until labor day.
The goal for these Medford Baseball Town Hall meetings is to have 4-5 meetings. This will allow and generate feedback and dialogue from all parents and leagues that are involved in the Medford Little League Baseball community. No voting will take place that binds any league or Board during the Town Hall format. There will be a 2 hour limit on these Town Hall gatherings and the topics will be designed for input.
The following topics will be round tabled at the Town Meeting for discussion next meeting.
1. Boundaries. Policies to Enforce. No boundaries and minimum residency requirement
2. League and Divisions- What should this look like? Teams, Ages, Fields.
3. Hierarchy, Board of Directors and Charter of Medford Little League.

The following dates are tentatively scheduled. Locations will be posted on Medford League web sites, online and local papers when dates and locations are confirmed.
August 7, 6-8pm (Coaches and Managers Town Hall)
August 15, 6-8pm (Finance)
August 23, 6-8pm (Memorandum of Understanding for Medford Little League Charter)
September 19, 6-8pm (Board meeting with all Citywide Little League officials)
