|The Medford Fire Department is leading an effort to collect critical supplies for victims of Hurricane Sandy in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Donations are being collected through Friday, November 16. According to information on the city website, the donated items will be loaded onto a tractor trailer and driven down to Hoboken by a group of off duty firefighters on November 17.
Items being collected include:
– Baby food, formula, and diapers
– Flashlights with D batteries
– Blankets
– Winter clothing
– Toiletries and personal care items
– Work gloves
– Heavy duty trash bags
– School supplies
– Non-perishable food items such as canned and dry goods
Donations can be dropped off at the Medford Police station, any Medford fire station, or at the Post Office on Forest Street.

It is bittersweet of us to announce that as of 9:00 PM on November 12, we have brought an ending to the supplies drive as our 53′ Trailer is full to the max. We entertained an option to acquire more vehicles, however due to the destruction of the region in which we are traveling to, it has been deemed not feasible…. I Would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and contributions to this drive and wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Flynn
