Historic 125th Game Goes to Malden
|The Malden Golden Tornadoes came out on top to earn their sixth straight Thanksgiving Game win over the Medford Mustangs, 30-6.
Thursday’s game was the 125th between Medford and Malden, a historic rivalry that is the third oldest high school one in the country.
Former football players for Medford and Malden gathered on the field before the game. Like Medford, Malden recently renovated its stadium and Thursday’s game was the first one played on artificial turf.
The 125th game was the first one ever broadcast live online. The game is also available on demand to watch on http://www.madeinmedford.com/medfordhs. Malden Lacrosse Coach Brenden Maney served as the announcer for the online broadcast.
Thursday’s game was sunny and much warmer than previous years, with temperatures around fifty degrees.
