City Council to Select 2013 Leadership
|– Allison Goldsberry
On Tuesday the Medford City Council is expected to keep its current leadership in place for 2013.
Long-time City Councilor Robert Maiocco has been re-elected President and City Councilor Fred Dello Russo, elected to the Council in 2005, was selected to serve as Vice-President. Both Councilors have served in those leadership positions since 2010.
The city councilors, who serve two-year terms, select their leadership from amongst themselves each year. The Council President leads the meetings each week and selects the sub-committee members.
Items on the agenda for the Council’s first meeting of the new year include a resolution by Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn to discuss the winter parking ban and a resolution by Councilor Robert Penta to receive an update on the Medford Housing Authority.
The full agenda is available on the city website.
Dear Editor, the Medford Mercury picked up this piece but at the Council meeting last night some councilors had second thoughts. Good for them. Term limits for the President and Vice president of the City Council.
