Lady Mustang Lax Team Earns Road Win Over Malden

The Medford High School girls varsity lacrosse team is off to a solid 2-1-1 start.
The Lady Mustangs improved their record with a 13-0 road win over Greater Boston League rival Malden on Wednesday.
Senior Katherine Timmins had five goals and two assists in Medford’s win. Head Coach Matt Galusi said he would be leaning on Timmins to score throughout the season. The senior already has thirteen goals and six assists in four games.
Coach Galusi said the young team is starting to come into its own. There are only six seniors, which Coach Galusi called “good leaders.”
“We’re young, hopefully we’ll figure it out,” said Galusi.
Coach Galusi said he expected the team to win the league and qualify for the state tournament, which it has done in years past.
Over April vacation week Medford will visit Central Catholic on Wednesday and hosts Brookline at 10AM on Friday.
