Middlesex Sheriff Reacts to Bombings

The following statement was released by Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian late Monday night:

“My thoughts and prayers are with those killed and injured in today’s explosions in Boston. This was a disturbing act of violence perpetrated not only against the residents of Boston, but against all those from across the world who traveled to Massachusetts for the marathon. In a testament to the strength and character of the people of the Commonwealth, we saw countless acts of heroism as first responders and civilians ran towards the explosions to aid the injured.”

“This afternoon, the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, as well as our Community Command Center and members of our transportation division were deployed to Boston to assist Boston Police and we will continue to support our law enforcement partners in any way we can in the hours and days ahead. I join Governor Patrick and Commissioner Davis in urging anyone with information about the person, or persons, responsible for this heinous act to immediately contact Boston Police or the FBI.”
