School Vacation ‘Crane-athon’ at the Library
|On Tuesday, April 16 at 9:30 am, volunteers will be available in the Children’s Room to demonstrate how to make an origami crane. Spend some time learning origami and contributing to our goal to help the Rotary Club of Medford make 1,000 origami paper cranes! Volunteers will be available in the morning and directions and supplies will be available in the Childrne’s Room until the goal is reached.
According to ancient Japanese legend, one who makes 1,000 cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. In line with the 2012-2013 Rotary International theme “Peace through Service”, the Rotary Club of Medford is taking on the challenge of making 1,000 origami paper cranes, in collaboration with the Medford Public Library and Medford Family Network. Help us achieve our wish for world peace and wellness! If we reach our goal, the cranes will be sent to the Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima, Japan. Supplies and instructions will be made available at the Medford Public Library and Medford Family Network.
When you stop by the library, take a little time to make a paper crane. You can also make them at home – directions are available on the Library’s website.
