Medford Little League Hosts Inaugural Opening Day
|The inaugural Opening Day for Medford Little League Baseball held on Saturday, April 27. The day was marked with a parade down Riverside Avenue from Medford City Hall to the baseball field at Hormel Stadium.
Medford’s three former little leagues officially merged as one this season.
Medford Police escorted the procession.
Cars representing each of the three former leagues were part of the parade. Bill Carr, Sr., is pictured with the former West Medford Little League.
Even the Red Sox made an appearance!
The Medford High School band, under the direction of Haley Horgan and her little dog.
Another band also provided musical entertainment.
Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn and School Committee member Robert E. Skerry, Jr.
Many parade participants displayed their patriotism with American flags.
