Mustang Baseball Team Earns Win Over Malden

The boys varsity baseball earned a key league win over Malden on Wednesday afternoon at Playstead Park.

Ryan Covelle pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits, giving up no earned runs, and striking out eight in Medford’s 5-2 victory.

Senior captain Jake Porrazzo was 1-2 with a home run and two RBI’s, according to assistant Coach Ryan Kozul. John Lavoie was 1-2 with a double, RBI, and run scored while Mike Egitto was 1-3 with an RBI and run scored. Nick Rocco contributed an RBI and run scored while Kevin Andrew, Sean Doncaster, and Covelle rounded out the offense with some hits.

The Mustangs are 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the Greater Boston League heading into their home game Thursday against Arlington.
