Chevalier Theater to Host ‘Peter Pan’

Erin Keith, Founder, Director and Producer of Spotlight Productions is pleased to announce their Spring musical performance schedule of Peter Pan.

There will be four performances with three casts, all performing at the Chavalier Theater located at 30 Forest Street in Medford. Each performance will feature incredible flying effects that will make you want to fly out of your seats and off to Never Never Land!

The schedule kicks off with a production of Peter Pan Junior, performed by the younger cast on Thursday June 13th at 6pm. The other performances of Peter Pan are on Thursday June 20th at 7pm, Friday June 21st at 7:30pm and Saturday, June 22nd at 2pm and 7:30pm.

Spotlight Productions was founded by Erin Keith in 2006. A youth musical theater company for children ages 8 to 16 years old, Erin and her staff teach the techniques of acting, singing, and dancing. According to Erin, “Spotlight is dedicated to building strong character, self-esteem, and confidence through the arts.” She added; “Spotlight’s goal is to establish a bond that will last a lifetime as children develop their talents to their fullest potential.”

For many of the staff, it’s a family affair! Erin’s sister Katie serves as technical Director, sister May as Choreographer/Producer, and sister Elle assisting this past year with the Roberts after School Youth Acting Program, and lending her acting and singing talents to the stage!

Associate Director John Howard, also a teacher at Saint Joseph’s, describes the theater experience: “Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different then finding myself in there.” John’s father also helps Spotlight, lending his carpentry expertise and building many of the sets. Mike McLaughlin, Co-Director, focuses much of his time to the Medford youth programs and adds a strong backbone to the behind the scenes work of several shows.

The Spotlight Kids have been practicing since September and all shows will feature flying effects, with some of the cast literally flying through the air!

Ticket prices for Peter Pan Junior show is $6.00 for seniors and students and $12.00 for adults. All other shows are students and seniors $12.00 before or $15.00 at the door and adult tickets are $15.00 before or $20.00 at the door. Call today, you will not want to miss it!
