The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) recently announced the selection of the Construction Manager-General Contractor (CM/GC) for pre-construction services for the Green Line extension project.

White Skanska Kiewit, JV (WSK) – a joint venture consisting of J. F. White Contracting Co., Skanska USA Civil Northeast, Inc. and Kiewit Infrastructure Company, has received the contract, according to information released by the Green Line Extension Project Team.

The CM/GC will complete the remaining phases of the project. The first phase of the project, currently underway, is being done by Barletta Heavy Division, Inc. The first phase includes the widening of two railroad bridges in Medford and Somerville.

The next phases of the Green Line extension to be performed by the CM/GC will be both pre-construction and construction services for extending the Green Line from a new, relocated Lechmere Station to a College Avenue Station in Medford and a spur along the Union Square branch to Union Square in Somerville.

J.F. White was the contractor for the Route 93 bridge replacement project in Medford. The company did over $400,000 of work after that project for improvements in Medford, including road work, beautification of the Salem Street rotary and Webster Street bridge, and resurfacing of the parking lot at Hormel Stadium. J.F. White also contributed toward the construction of a storage facility for the Medford High School crew team at Hormel.
